Lake Whelchel

Led a hike around Lake Whelchel in Gaffney today.  From the parking lot you walk a little trail that dead ends on the lake loop.  Then you can go either way on the loop to go around the entire lake.  It's a 7.91M hike with very little elevation (280 ft).  The weather was great today and the lake views were great.  

The trail is part of the Overmountain Victory National Historic Trail which traces the route used by patriot militia during the Kings Mountain campaign of 1780.
